IPAC Recently became a member of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) and have entered an agreement to work towards becoming externally verified as a progressive company working with Aboriginal people, businesses and communities.
What is PAR?
Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) is an online management and reporting program that supports progressive improvement in Aboriginal relations, and a certification program that confirms corporate performance at the bronze, silver or gold level. If a company is a leader in Aboriginal relations, PAR certification recognizes the commitment and success.
4 Drivers of PAR
Leadership Actions - Company leaders support an organizational focus on progressive Aboriginal relations across the company, such actions have an impact in achieving and sustaining positive results.
Employment - The company commits resources to achieving equitable representation of Aboriginal persons in the workplace.
Business Development - The company commits resources to the development of business relationships with Aboriginal-owned businesses.
Community Relations - The company commits to develop and sustain positive relations with Aboriginal communities, members and stakeholders through engagement and investment.
IPAC looks forward to working with CCAB and completing the three phases of the PAR Committed program. IPAC supports corporate Canada's response to the increased significance of Aboriginal businesses and communities to the economic prosperity of Canada. In addtion, PAR reflects the best practices in corporate social responsibility reports that is found in the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
